What a Giverny bus tour is
A bus tour here is a full-size coach from Place du Général Kœnig at Porte Maillot, in the 17th
arrondissement. It carries up to 50 travellers, a tour leader who rides with you, and a
self-guided app for the house and gardens that you download before the day. The drive takes about
an hour each way.
You choose between a half-day of about six hours, with about three hours in Giverny, and a full
day of eleven and a half hours that adds the Palace of Versailles with a live guide. The coach parks
a 10 to 15 minute walk from the garden entrance, and the tour leader walks you in.
Why choose a Giverny bus tour
It is the lowest fare to Giverny
The coach half-day costs $80 a person with the Monet ticket paid, a little over half the
cheapest minivan seat.
Free time in the village
After 90 minutes at the house and gardens you get 90 minutes of your own in the village. Use it
for the church and Monet's grave, the Musée des impressionnismes, or lunch.
An app in your language
The half-day's app for the house and gardens comes in English, Spanish, French, German and
Italian, so a mixed party can each listen in their own.
One meeting point, easy to find
You meet beside the church of Notre-Dame-de-Compassion on Place du Général Kœnig, and the
coach brings you back to the same square at Porte Maillot.
Bus tours vs small-group minivans
The coach and the minivans go to the same gardens. What changes is the group, the guide and the
fare.

Take the coach for the fare and the free time. Take a minivan if you want a guide beside you in
the flower garden and at the pond, or a pickup at your hotel.
What you get, and what you don't
- In the fare: the air-conditioned coach both ways, the Monet ticket, the app
and a tour leader. The full day adds Versailles entry and a guided palace visit.
- Not in the fare: food and drink, tips and hotel pickup.
- No guide in the gardens: the tour leader travels with you, but inside the
house and gardens you follow the app.
- Child seats: the coaches have no ISOFIX anchor points.
- Wheelchairs: the coach day says it is not wheelchair accessible, and the house
itself is not.
The coach full day with Versailles
Eleven and a half hours from Porte Maillot: the palace with a guide and its gardens, then two hours at Monet's house and gardens. Both entries paid.

Planning a bus tour from Paris to Giverny
- Budget: $80 a person for the half-day and $161 for the full day
with Versailles.
- Before you go: download the app the evening before; the day expects it on
your phone when you reach the gate.
- Getting to Porte Maillot: allow time to find the coach at Place du Général
Kœnig; our map of the meeting points shows the square.
- Refunds: in full up to 24 hours ahead.
- Season: the gardens open 1 April to 1 November in 2026, and the coach runs in
that window only.
Our guide to choosing a tour sets the coach beside the minivans and the private days.
Who should choose something else
- If you want a guide in the gardens. A small group of six or eight puts one
beside you; see the Giverny Monet garden & house tours.
- If you want to be collected at your hotel. The Giverny private tours and some minivans
come to your door.
- If your child needs an ISOFIX seat. Book a private day with infant seats
instead.
- If you want Trianon at Versailles. The coach covers the palace and its gardens
only; a small group reaches Trianon.
Frequently asked questions
How big is the coach?
The half-day coach carries up to 50 travellers. It parks a 10 to 15 minute walk from the garden entrance, and a tour leader walks you in.
Is there a guide inside the gardens on the bus tour?
No. The coach days give you a self-guided app for the house and gardens, downloaded before the day, and a tour leader who travels with you. On the full day a guide leads the Versailles palace visit.
Where do the coach tours leave from?
Place du Général Kœnig at Porte Maillot, in the 17th arrondissement, beside the church of Notre-Dame-de-Compassion. The coach brings you back to Porte Maillot.
Can young children ride the coach?
Yes, and a child fare starts from age 2. The coaches have no ISOFIX anchor points, so a child seat that needs them will not fit.
What languages are the tours in?
English on every tour listed here. Some private days also offer French, Spanish, German or Russian, and the coach days add an app in ten languages.
Can I cancel a tour and get my money back?
Most tours refund in full if you cancel at least 24 hours ahead. A private half day from Paris is non-refundable and the Le Havre shore day needs six days' notice. Every card states its own terms.
